'I didn't think I'd be the one keeping her': A once-skittish outdoor cat returned for months, stepped inside, and found a safe, loving home for good

She chose the house over the bushes.

Little Baby Alice started out as a TNR cat, showing up for food and sticking close to a yard that felt a bit safer than the streets. The original plan was simple: take care of her outside, help her get used to people, and maybe get her ready for adoption one day. Nothing about it was supposed to turn into a permanent situation.

That changed slowly. After months of showing up, getting comfortable, and easing into contact, she started coming inside. At some point, she made the decision herself. House life beat hiding under bushes, dealing with bigger cats, and rough weather. Once she got a taste of it, there was no going back.

Now she's fully settled in. She's bonded, playful, and very sure of what she wants. Wand toys, attention, treats, all on her schedule. The other cats accepted her without much trouble, and she's already chasing them around like she's always been there. She went from keeping her distance to being right in the middle of everything.

It's a big shift from where she started. From a skittish outdoor cat to one that's comfortable, social, and clearly happy inside. She wasn't meant to stay, but she made that call herself.

She clearly loves the indoor life. No more hiding outside or dealing with other cats, just warmth, food, and attention whenever she wants it. She looks comfortable, relaxed, and completely settled in. It’s like she figured out exactly what works and went with it. Hard to blame her for choosing this over everything else.

Amazing that she got to join the family. It’s such a big change from being outside to having a place where she’s safe and cared for. She went from just showing up to fully belonging there. You can tell she’s settled in and comfortable. It really worked out for her.

Rescuing her really changed everything for her. She went from being out there on her own to having someone step in and give her a real chance.
